Many friends who are new to the electrical industry are not very clear about the concepts of high voltage and low voltage. Even if they are friends who have been in electrical for many years, they may only contact a part of the electrical family, and they don’t have much contact with high and low voltage professional knowledge. Therefore, the knowledge in this area may not be very systematic. The internationally recognized AC voltage of the dividing line of high and low voltage electrical appliances is 1000V (1KV) (DC is 1500V). AC 1000V (1KV) and above are high-voltage electrical appliances, and 1000V and below are low-voltage electrical appliances. Sometimes transformers are also included in high-voltage electrical appliances. Low-voltage electrical appliances are components or equipment that can manually or automatically switch on and off circuits according to external signals and requirements to realize the switching, control, protection, detection, transformation and adjustment of circuits or non-electric objects. According to the working voltage of the control appliances, with AC 1000V and DC 1500V as the boundary, they can be divided into two categories: high-voltage control appliances and low-voltage control appliances. Generally speaking, low-voltage electrical appliances can be divided into two categories: power distribution appliances and control appliances. They are the basic components of complete sets of electrical equipment. In the process of industry, agriculture, transportation, national defense, and people using electricity, most of them use low-voltage power supply, so the quality of electrical components will directly affect the reliability of the low-voltage power supply system.
Through the above analysis, everyone must have seen that the definition of high and low voltage is based on AC 1000V (DC 1500V). Simply put, AC above 1000V is high voltage, and below 1000V is low voltage; DC and so on. 1. The dividing line between high voltage and low voltage is 1000V according to the IEC standard, but our country does not have a voltage level of 1000V, and the dividing line between high voltage and low voltage is actually 3000V.
2. Hunan transformer companies say that there is no essential difference between the so-called high voltage, ultra high voltage, and UHV (only as the voltage increases, the insulation requirements and safety requirements are different), but people call them differently, and there are no clear regulations on the dividing line. It's just a convention. Therefore, the complete set of electrical reminds you: there will be differences in different versions.
3. In the above table, you can see that the nominal voltage of the power grid is lower than the rated low voltage on the equipment, in order to protect the normal operation of the equipment.
In the nominal voltage of the power grid and equipment voltage mentioned in the above table, my understanding is as follows:
① Rated voltage of the power grid: The power grid refers to the entire power supply and distribution system, including power plants, substations, lines, and power users; in China 10KV, 35KV refers to the rated voltage of the power grid.
②Rated voltage of electrical equipment: For our country’s switches, the rated voltage of our equipment is 12KV, 40.5KV, etc.;
It means that the 12KV electrical equipment (or switch) should be used in the 10KV grid, and the 40.5KV electrical equipment (or switch) should be used in the 35KV grid; because the rated voltage of the electrical equipment is higher than the grid rated voltage; At present, the commonly used voltage levels in our country: 220V, 380V, 6kV, 10kV, 35kV, 110kV, 220kV, 330kV, 500kV. The power system is generally composed of power plants, transmission lines, substations, distribution lines and electrical equipment. Generally, 35kV and voltage lines above 35kV are called power transmission lines. Voltage lines of 10kV and below are called distribution lines. Hunan transformer companies say that our country stipulates three safety voltages: 36V, 24V, and 12V.
