1. Examples of repairing laptop power adapter without voltage output
When a laptop is in use, the voltage rises suddenly due to the problem of the power supply line, causing the power adapter to burn out and no voltage output.
Maintenance process: The power adapter uses a switching power supply, and the input voltage range is 100-240V. If the voltage exceeds 240V, the power adapter may be burned out. Open the plastic casing of the power adapter, and see that the fuse has been blown, the varistor has also been burned, and one of the pins has been burned out. Use a multimeter to measure that there is no obvious short circuit in the power circuit. Replace the fuse and varistor of the same specification, connect the power adapter, and the power adapter can still operate normally. In this way, the protection power circuit in the power adapter is relatively complete.
From the actual circuit analysis, the varistor is connected in parallel with the input end of the bridge rectifier diode. Its function is to use its "self-fuse" when a high voltage invades in an instant, so as to protect some other components of the power adapter from high voltage damage. .
Under the normal condition of 220V power supply voltage, if there is no varistor of similar specification on hand, the resistor can be temporarily not installed for emergency use.
However, you should install the varistor immediately after you buy it. Otherwise, there will be endless troubles. Many components in the power adapter will be burned out, and the notebook computer will be burned out.
To repair the plastic shell of the disassembled power adapter, you can use polyurethane glue to fix it. If there is no polyurethane glue, you can also use black electrical tape to wind several times on the plastic shell of the power adapter.

A power adapter makes a very loud "squeak" sound when it is running, which interferes with consumers' running mood.
Maintenance process: Under normal circumstances, it is normal for the power adapter to have a small operating noise, but if the noise is annoying, it is a problem. Because the power adapter only causes "squeak" when there is a relatively large active gap between the switching transformer, or the magnetic ring of the inductance coil and the coil. After removing the power adapter, gently flip part of the coils on the two inductors with your hands without power. If there is no feeling of looseness, you can be sure that the source of the operating noise of the power adapter comes from the switching transformer.
The methods to eliminate the "squeaking" noise during the operation of the switching transformer are as follows:
(1) Use an electric soldering iron to re-sold the connection solder joints between the several pins of the switching transformer and the printed circuit board. When welding, press the switching transformer against the circuit board by hand, so that the bottom of the switching transformer is in close contact with the circuit board.bag in box custom
(2) Insert an appropriate plastic plate or seal with polyurethane glue between the magnetic core and the coil of the switching transformer.
(3) Padded hard paper or plastic board between the switching transformer and the circuit board.
In this example, using the first method has no effect. You can only remove the switching transformer from the circuit board and use the other method to test, and the "squeaking" sound is eliminated.
