ROHS regulations are mainly for electronic and electrical products (then products can be tested according to customer needs), metal and ceramic materials are tested for 4 hazardous substances, and non-metallic materials are tested for 6 hazardous substances! It is a mandatory regulation of the European Union, that is, products sold in the EU market must pass ROHS testing!
REACH regulations cover almost all products (except food and medicine), metal and ceramic materials test 25 hazardous substances, and non-metal test 53 hazardous substances! It is a voluntary environmental protection regulation of the European Union. Generally, high-end customers not only require suppliers' products to meet ROHS regulations, but also require them to meet REACH regulations! In other words, ROHS and REACH are two different environmental protection regulations of the European Union, but their test items and content and test methods are different! And the former is mandatory and the latter is voluntary! There are similarities between REACH and ROHS, but there is no conflict or duplication. Both are mandatory regulations and directives, and electronic and electrical products need to be met at the same time. As for supervision, the two implementation methods are similar, and both can be self-declared.
There are 53 substances tested by REACH, and it covers almost all types of products except food and drug accidents.
ROHS is only for electronic and electrical related products, and there are 6 single homogeneous products that need to be tested.
ROHS is more targeted and REACH covers a wider area. It is currently the largest environmental protection regulation.
