Over-powdering process in power cord

  Some of the plug power cords we use every day have some white powder when the outer skin is cut. Don’t get me wrong. This is not an abnormal problem with the cord. This situation is called the powder process in the wire factory, so why do the power cord manufacturers over powder? ? What does it do?

  The powdered wire, as the name suggests, is the powdered (talc) wire. Talc has the characteristics of lubricity, anti-sticking, flow aid, fire resistance, acid resistance, insulation, softness, good gloss, and strong adsorption.

  The main function of the talc powder in the RVV power cord is that during the production process, the outer layer of PVC sheath and the inner layer of wire skin do not stick together easily.

  This will help reduce the friction between the cores. There will be no direct contact between the cores and the core skin will be broken. In some RVV power cords, there will be white powder after cutting the PVC sheath. The white powder mainly starts The effect is that in the production process, the outer PVC sheath and the core sheath are not easily adhered together.

  It is often said that a few square wires are not added with a unit, that is, square millimeters. The square of the wire actually refers to the cross-sectional area of the wire, that is, the area of the circular cross-section of the wire, in square millimeters. There is a simple calculation method: if we use a caliper to measure the diameter of the copper core is 1mm, and then multiply it by the coefficient of 0.7854, 1 X 1 X 0.7854=0.7854mm2, then this wire is 0.7854 square wire, with the American standard 18AWG Take the No. 18 wire as an example, the standard of No. 18 wire is 0.824mm2, then the diameter of the copper core measured with a caliper should be between 1.02mm and 1.1mm.

  Generally speaking, when the power grid voltage is 220V, the empirical power carrying capacity per square wire is about one kilowatt. Each square of copper wire can carry 1-1.5 kilowatts of electricity, and each square of aluminum wire can carry 0.6-1 kilowatts of electricity. Therefore, only one square of copper wire is sufficient for an electrical appliance with a power of 1 kilowatt. When it comes to current, the copper wire can carry 3A to 5A per square meter during short-distance power transmission. The heat dissipation conditions are better to take 5A/square millimeter, but not to take 3A/square millimeter.
